As we start a new year, for many of us it is a time to start thinking about the changes and improvements we’d like to make moving forward. So, what better time to start planning a renovation project? With this in mind, we have a bumper section on refurbishment where you can find case studies and expert advice from across the industry.

We hear from Weber whose industrial floor screed has been specified in the extensive renovation of a manufacturing facility and Flowcrete UK who have helped to transform one of Glasgow’s most well-known and prestigious buildings into an entertainment and cultural centre. Andy Davies of Altro discusses how specifiers should consider acoustic flooring in any major project to enhance the performance of a building and the wellbeing of its users.

Elsewhere in the issue we focus on adhesives and sealants with guidance from F. Ball & Co. on selecting adhesives for use on vinyl floorcoverings in damp and humid conditions, while BAL outlines the benefits of pourable tile adhesives.

Also, don’t forget to show your support for your favourite flooring industry product or service to help them to take a coveted trophy in our annual TCF Awards. You can find out who made our Top 50 shortlist on page 22 as well as details on how to cast your vote.

All that is left to say is that I wish you all a happy and prosperous year.
