COBA Strikes a Chord at The Bridgewater Hall

Bridgewater Hall

COBA Flooring’s Plan.a aluminium matting has been installed in three entrance areas within Manchester’s internationally acclaimed concert venue, The Bridgewater Hall.

Plan.a is custom-manufactured to order by COBA Flooring in the UK. It was supplied by Cutler Cleaning Supplies based in Cheshire and a member of the Jangro network of independent janitorial distributors based in the UK and Ireland. The installation was carried out by COBA Flooring’s own team of matting experts.

Designed for heavy-duty pedestrian footfall areas, the robust yet smart aluminium system has been installed in the main entrance to The Bridgewater Hall, as well as the Box Office and Artists’ entrances.

The durability of the entrance matting system was a key apart of the specification because the concert venue hosts more than 250 performances a year, and can seat some 2400 people in its impressive auditorium. Visually, the matting also needed to complement the high interior standards and aesthetic design of the venue.

The Bridgewater Hall’s House Manager, Armelle Rainjonneau, said: “COBA only had a restricted time to fit the entrance matting but still their team managed to deliver on time and with great precision. They were very professional and we experienced good all-round service. We are very pleased with the finished result.”

Plan.a is available in either an open or closed surface construction, in either standard or low-profile height. There is a choice of material insert options including Alba (nylon), Needlepunch and PVC. Plan.a can also be specified in vibrant colours using Precision carpet inserts or feature bespoke logos.
