Polyflor Sport 67 Scores at New Leisure Centre

Polyflor’s Sport 67 in Maple was the flooring of choice for GT3 Architects when completing the new £7m Brinnington Park Leisure Complex in Stockport. The new centre was developed through investment from Stockport Council and will be operated by Life Leisure.

Facilities in the new sports complex include a gym, aerobics studio, community room, boxing gym and four-court sports hall where a number of Polyflor products were fitted including Polysafe Hydro, Polysafe Standard PUR, Polysafe Wood FX Acoustic in Silver Oak and 690m2 of Sports 67 in Maple.

Steven Mirtle from GT3 Architects commented: “Polyflor was the ideal choice when it came to fitting out the new sports centre, we needed to ensure that the flooring fitted could withstand the everyday stresses of a gym and sports centre whilst giving a great finish and we are confident we have achieved this.”

Sports 67 in Maple is perfect for the classic gymnasium style and is designed to perform safely and effectively in multi-purpose indoor sports venues, meeting all Sports England requirements and is the ideal choice for the four-court sports hall.

Polysafe Standard PUR in Nordic Grey has been fitted in high traffic areas such as the reception, lobby and stairways. Its high durability and sustainable slip resistance make it highly suited for areas with heavy traffic such as these and benefits from the added protection from water spillages or contaminants.

Polysafe Wood FX Acoustic in Silver Oak was fitted in the boxing gym and main gym areas for equipment such as running machines and exercise bikes. Reinforced with Polysafe PUR for optimum appearance retention and sustainable wet slip resistance means it’s ultra-hardwearing and easy to maintain, perfect for a gym environment. It also has equal to or greater than 19 dB impact sound reduction level and limits noise disturbance from the gym to the community room below.
