EcoWorx Resilient PVC-free Flooring from Shaw Contract redefines hard surface performance and circularity, delivering a PVC-free, fully closed-loop recyclable product, without compromising durability or aesthetics.
Pioneers of the Cradle-to-Cradle approach with its EcoWorx platform, Shaw Contract extends its commitment to sustainability with this PVC-free Resilient platform. Fully closed-loop recyclable, at the end of its useful life it will be recycled into new EcoWorx carpet tile through Shaw’s free-of-charge re[TURN] Reclamation Programme, making it a truly circular flooring product.
Andrew Jackson, Business Development Director at Shaw Contract EMEA, said: “Our history with EcoWorx and EcoWorx S carpet tile proved that a carpet tile can be PVC-free without sacrificing performance. With EcoWorx Resilient, we wanted to respond to industry demand and bring that same innovation to luxury vinyl tile, delivering all the performance and aesthetic attributes of LVT -but without the vinyl.”
Optimised for low embodied carbon and carbon neutral, Art + Science is the first collection to be launched in the EcoWorx Resilient platform, achieving a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) score of 5.2 kg CO2/m2. It contains 25% recycled content, incorporating materials such as discarded yoghurt pots and is free from plasticisers, PVC, stabilisers, orthophthalates and chlorine.
Available in 2.5mm plank format across two natural-looking offerings, Pivot and Observe, it provides versatile design options ideal for commercial environments including workplace and education sectors. Pivot features 15 timeless wood visuals, whereas Observe offers subtle concrete effects in 5 neutral tones, both offering 6 metres of continuous pattern without repetition.
Engineered for longevity and durability, an ExoGuard+ coating provides superior stain, scratch and scuff resistance. It outperforms traditional LVT by 40% in stain testing, withstanding tough chemicals such as hand sanitiser, bleach and disinfectant.
EcoWorx Resilient also enhances acoustic performance, achieving 9dB impact sound reduction, which increases to 20dB with a 2mm underlay, ideal for quieter working environments.
This product is effectively classified as fire retardant, achieving a fire rating of Bfl–S1 in external testing. With an R10 rating, the product also provides excellent slip resistance.
Being 25% lighter than PVC flooring, it is easier to transport to site, handle and install. A back bevel design enables seamless plank connection, reducing installation time. When installed with approved adhesives, it is backed by a 15-year Commercial Limited Warranty.
EcoWorx Resilient has Health Product Declaration (HPD) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification, supporting Shaw Contract’s material health and low embodied carbon claims.
The Art + Science collection meets the demand of leading industry certifications, including Indoor Air Comfort® Gold certification by Eurofins, promoting improved indoor air quality for installers and building occupants alike, as well as GREENGUARD and Declare. Cradle to Cradle, Works with WELL and Blue Angel certification is also in progress.
EcoWorx Resilient embodies Shaw Contract’s commitment to creating healthier spaces through sustainability-led innovation. Proving that design excellence, functionality and circularity can go hand in hand, this latest launch reinforces the brand’s belief that a neutral stance is not enough in the global response to climate change.
