Now with nearly 500 Master Installers covering the entire country, the Academy is proving a success in the training world. Along with over 170 one-day courses carried out through 2018 – the highest annual figure ever recorded – The Academy for Excellence in Flooring delivered improved product knowledge and expertise in wood, laminate and luxury vinyl tile installation for another year.
From independents through to leading names such as Benchmarx and Carpetright, the Academy has provided tailored course content to industry professionals, covering everything from product knowledge to installation and aftercare. Ensuring that sales representatives and customer service are ready to respond to customer enquiries and installers prepared to handle all site conditions, the Academy for Excellence in Flooring ensures that Pergo and Quick-Step products are supported by the very best industry professionals.
The Master Installer scheme too has welcomed new members, improving the coverage of the network across the UK and through this, bringing peace of mind to more homes and businesses than ever before. With people of all ages taking part, the programme underlines the willingness of installers to improve their skills and offer their customers a lifetime workmanship warranty.
David Bacchus, trainer and assessor at the Academy reveals: “People of all ages come to take part in the Master Installer programme, our youngest 20 and the oldest 71, with the criteria being that they must have been installing floors for at least two years. The courses are constantly updated to take onboard the needs of these different groups.”
With newly refurbished facilities, including six-metre training bays with the obstacles faced that make installation of wood, laminate and LVT floors more complex, the Academy for Excellence in Flooring has already taken bookings on 2019 courses, with early dates nearly full. For the Academy, 2019 looks set to be another great year.
